Lewis High age 80 of Altus, died September 26, 1967 at Memorial Hospital in Altus. He was born February 14, 1887 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. Lewis married Essie Mae Watley in 1930. He was a janitor at Lincoln High School for 21 years. Lewis was a resident of Jackson County since 1921.
Services for Lewis High are scheduled for 2:00pm Saturday, September 30, 1967 at the Benson Street Church of Christ, officiated by Vernon Traylor. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Lewis High is survived by his wife Essie Mae of the home; two daughters, Pearlie Mae High, Altus, Oklahoma; Bennie Mae Bruner, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five sons, Willie High, Altus, Cleophas High, Altus, Alton High, Altus, Glenn High, Altus, Lynn High, Altus, one step-son Ernest Watley, Altus, 37, grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren.
