Obituary for Lillian Allie Bridges
Lillian Allie Bridges, age 90, died Saturday, July 23rd, 1994 at the Park Lane Manor Nursing Home in Altus.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Eldorado Church of Christ officiated by Bill Osborne. Burial will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Lillian was born August 26th, 1903 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Frank and Elvinah Darter. She married Thomas David Bridges May 16, 1924 in Hollis, OK. He preceded her in death July 30, 1964. Lillian was a School Teacher in the Tea Cross Community for a period of time. Later she and Tom farmed in the Hollis and Eldorado communities. She was active in the Eldorado Church of Christ and Historical Society as well as doing volunteer work with RSVP and Tipton's Children's Home.
Survivors include: four children, J.W. Bridges and wife Verma of Eldorado, OK, David Bridges and wife Judy of Lubbock, TX, Faunett Coward and husband Doyal of Eldorado, OK and Lynette Haws and husband Wayne of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Gertrude Weeks of Cherry Valley, CA; seven grandchildren, Jerry and Don Bridges, Janet Bridges, Ken Coward, Kathy Weaver, Tena Ferenczhalmy, Lori Strawn; 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Tom Bridges; infant daughter, Mary Juanita; brother, Edgar Harrison Darter; sister, Beatrice Darter Moore; three grandsons, Larry James Bridges, Jon David Bridges and Stephen Doyal Coward; great-granddaughter, Robin Kay Bridges.
