Lois Mae Cargal Allen, age 94, of Blair, passed away Friday afternoon, December 13, 2013, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Allen was born in Leon, Oklahoma on March 25, 1919, to Harve and Ivy (Carter) Morris. Moving to Duke in 1928, she met E.D. "Pete" Cargal, in Vinson, in 1935. On October 14, 1939, she married Pete Cargal and he preceded her in death in 1979. In 1986, she married Wayne Allen and he preceded her in death in 1994. After she married Pete, they established their home in Blair, where she spent the next sixty-six years. A homemaker all of her life, Mrs. Cargal enjoyed trail riding, cooking, listening to music, especially on Tuesday nights, in Warren and playing dominoes.
Preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bud Cargal, in 2012; one sister LeVada and five brothers, Doyle, Curtis, Leslie, Loyd and Harlin, she is survived by one daughter, LaDene Vickery and husband, Sam of Blair; one brother Delton Morris and wife Lila of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Phil Cargal, Shawn Cargal, Sheila Reed, Kenneth Dale Shatswell and David Wayne Shatswell; ten great grandchildren, Denny, Zeb, Catiee, Garrett, Monty, Dalton, Patrick, Dustin, Ariel and Nathan along with twelve great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Lois Mae Cargal Allen will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, December 19, 2013, at the Blair First Baptist Church with Pastor Doug Altom and Pastor Ed Heflin officiating. Interment will follow at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
The family will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, from 6 until 7 p.m.
