Lora Massey
Funeral services for Lora Massey, 76, of Carrollton, Texas formerly of Altus are scheduled for 2:00pm Monday at the Trinity Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Altus Cemetery. Rev. Vernon Tinsley will officiate. Mrs. Massey died in Dallas January 21. Mrs. Massey was born January 31, 1916 in Unity, Texas to Earl and Lizzie Freeland. She married Odell Massey in 1946 in Altus. Mrs. Massey served in World War II as a nurse in the 11th Evac Hospital. She was a First Leutinant, and commanded a field hospital unit in Gemany, France, England, and Belgium. Later in life she was an RN at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a member of the Rebeccas Lowell-Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Massey is survived by daughter, Donna Dixon of Carrollton, Texas; brother Royce Freeland of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sisters, Arduth Beashears of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Faon Cone of Houston, Texas; Ruth griffin of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; Molone Aderholt of Florisiant, Mo.; three grandchildren, Barbara Harber of Austin, Texas; Beverly Dixon of Carrollton, Texas; Bryan Dixon of Carrollton, Texas; six nieces and three nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Massey 7-9-1984; two sisters Dean Tate and Bessie Freeland; one brother Ferrell Freeland.
