BARTON

Loretta Pauline Barton, age 94, of Dublin, Texas, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 14, 2016, at De Leon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in De Leon, Texas.

Mrs. Barton was born in Altus, Oklahoma on October 25, 1921, to John Paul and Jimmie Mamie (Cantrell) Hoehne. After attending school in Martha, she married the love of her life, R.E. Barton on December 31, 1938 and they spent the next fifty-two wonderful years together before his death on March 22, 1990. Shortly after their marriage, R.E. joined the United States Army and was sent to the Philippines. Returning in February of 1946, they lived a short time in Arkansas until moving to Plainview, Texas where they lived from 1950 until 1968. Moving to Amarillo in 1968, Loretta continued living there after R.E."s death in 1990. In 2012, she moved to Dublin to be closer to her daughter. A long-time member of the Church of Christ, Loretta enjoyed being with her friends and family.

Preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Glenn Edward Barton and one sister, Juanita Faye Bryant, she is survived by her daughter Karen Pearcey and husband Gene of Dublin, Texas; three grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Loretta Barton will be at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2016, at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home, of Altus.
