Obituary for Louise B. Sheppard
Louise B. Sheppard, age 82, passed away Monday, May 27th, 1996 in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Louise was born March 16th, 1914, in Bailey, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Minis and Margaret (Mosley) Bible. She was a former Walter resident, moving to Altus in 1962. Later she moved to Lawton, returning to Altus in December of 1992.
On November 26, 1933, she and Tom J. Sheppard were united in marriage at Lawton, Oklahoma. Tom preceded her in death July 19, 1995.
Mrs. Sheppard taught school at a one room country school during World War II, in Cotton County. In 1962, she opened the Tom Thumb Kindergarten in Altus. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Louise was preceded in death by: her parents; and her husband, Tom, two brothers, Earnest Bible and Kenneth Bible. and one brother in law Benton A Mason.
She is survived by: two sons, T.J. Sheppard, III and his wife Barbara of Gallop, NM and Charles W. Sheppard of Manitou Springs, CO; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Leon Richeson of Altus, Oklahoma; one brother, H.H. Bible of Ladue, MO; one sister, Mary Helen Mason of Ft. Smith, AR; and by 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
