Lucie J. Williams, daughter of E.C. and Henrietta (Lucker) Meaders was born in Levelland, Texas on June 30, 1928, and passed away on December 23, 2015 at Altus, Oklahoma.
She attended school in Whiteface, Texas, moving to Loveland, Oklahoma in 1936. She graduated from Loveland High School in 1946 with honors. She attended Cameron College, graduating in 1948. Mrs. Williams got her BS degree in Business from Central State at Edmond in 1950. She taught school for 38 years, retiring in 1988. She taught in Tillman and Jackson Counties. She taught at WOSC in Altus. She married N.H. Williams at Frederick, Oklahoma in July 1955. He preceded her in death in 1991. Mrs. Williams did not have any children of her own, but called the many children she taught hers.
Mrs. Williams is survived by two sisters; Lucille and Gerald Lucas, Great Bend, Kansas; and Louise Courtney of Carnegie, Oklahoma, two nieces; Maxine and Teddy Harrison, Hobart, Oklahoma, Phoebe and Mike Doss of Ft. Worth, Texas and one nephew; Gary and Jo Lucas, Hillsdale, Kansas and Great nephews; Ben and Alex Lucas, Jason Doss, Max and Kathy Harrison and great nieces; Courtney Doss and Rosalyn Lucas and great great nephews; Jacob and Jared Doss and Callan Harrison; great great nieces, Boston, Abigail and Madelyn Harrison. She is also survived by her special caretaker, Margerita Valdez.
Cremation services have been entrusted to Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus. A private service will be held at a later date.
