Obituary for Luther Ben Sherman
Mr. Luther Ben Sherman, age 82, of 310 E. Walnut, died early Monday morning at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday at Lowell Memorial Chapel, officiated by the Reverend Noel George and assisted by the Reverend C. C. Gober. Burial will be in Altus Cemetery under direction of Lowell Funeral Home.

Born August 17th, 1891 in Georgetown, Texas, he came to the Olustee area in 1924 and later farmed and resided in the Friendship community. He was married to the late Nettie "Lee" Sherman in 1912 at Justin, Texas. His wife preceded him in May 1972. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Estelle Knox and Mrs. Ima Jean Burrow of Altus; four sons, Mr. Leon Sherman of Altus, William of McAllen, TX, Autry of Bakersfield, CA and L. B. Jr., of Hess, OK; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
