Obituary for Mabel Audean (Mercer) Huckabay
M. Audean (Mercer) Huckabay, age 83, longtime Eldorado resident passed away Wednesday, September 2nd, 1998. Audean was born June 30, 1915 at Eldorado, Oklahoma to the late Savil Douglas and Virginia Rebecca (Garrett) Mercer. Audean had lived in the Eldorado area since 1926, moving here from Lockney, Texas. On July 1, 1939 in Eldorado, Oklahoma, Audean and Paul Glenn Huckabay were united in marriage. He preceded her in death June 24, 1961. She was a nurse in Quanah, Texas and retired after 33 years. Audean was a longtime member of the Eldorado Church of Christ, Lions Club in Eldorado and the Historical Society.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, September 4th, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. at the Eldorado Church of Christ with Bill Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Survivors include: two children, Gary Huckabay and wife Shirley of Lawton, OK and Linda Bridges and husband Harold of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Tara Brittain and husband Travis of Lawton, OK and Paul Huckabay of Norman, OK; one great-grandchild, Bailey Brittain of Lawton, OK. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
