Mamie Burdettte Walker was born September 2nd, 1888 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Rockette. She moved to Altus in 1917 with her husband, B. W. Walker. He passed away on August 17th, 1962. Mamie was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Walker died on December 29th, 1967 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Services are to be Sunday, December 31 at 2:00 P. M. at the Tims Chapel of Memories with Rev. C. J. Moore officiating.. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.

Mamie is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Jewel Hopper of Bakersfield, California and one son, Jack Walker of Altus, Oklahoma, four sisters, Mrs. Lozano Almond of Waxahatchie, Texas, Mrs. Jessie McMillon of Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Vera Pender of Houston, Texas and Miss. Ola Rockette of Austin, Texas/ Also surviving are three grand children and six great grand children.
