Obituary for Margaret B. Knox
Margaret Bridget Knox, age 80 of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Margaret was born in Gilford, England on February 2, 1938 to her parents Michael and Johanna (Condon) Cooke. She lived in County Cork, Ireland, Reading, England, Ipswich, England, California, South Dakota. She married the love of her life Coy Gene Knox on April 23, 1962 and they were married for over 55 years before Coy's death on February 3, 2018. As a military family they lived in many places but landed in Altus Air Force Base and have resided in Altus for the last 38 years. She worked for the Billeting Section at Altus Air Force Base and was a long-time member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus. Margaret loved Shopping! She loved word games, whether by book or by game shows. But most of all, she loved spending time with her husband Coy and her children and grandchildren in Dallas, Texas and she will be missed very much.
Preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Johanna Cooke and her husband Coy Knox; Margaret is survived by her son Earl M.P. Knox of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mary M.J. Knox of Dallas, Texas; and Patricia L. Knox of Garland, Texas; her sister, Johanna Boxx of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Emeley J. Knox of Garland, Texas, Victoria Grimes of Mesquite, Texas, and Christopher Grimes also of Garland, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, many other family members and friends.
The family will greet friends at visitation from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday evening, July 10, 2018 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
