Margaret Gay "Peggy" Corley
Margaret Gay Corley. age 59, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2006, at her home in Wichita Falls, Texas.
She was born January 15, 1947, to O.L. (Bill) and Jaquelyn (Pierot) Corley in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
Peggy attended grade school in Waurika, Oklahoma and Graham, Texas. She graduated from Durant High School and attended Southeastern State College in Durant, Oklahoma.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas and the Baptist Student Union.
Peggy made a profession of faith and was baptized and joined the church at the age of nine. Later, as an adult, she felt she needed to make a recommitment, in which she did; though she was handicapped at times by health problems, she enjoyed being involved in God's work and participated to the extent that she was able. She was an out going person who loved people. She had a beautiful singing voice. Peggy and her sister Carol were a duet who performed often for various occasions.
She is preceded in death by her father, Bill Corley and her grandparents.
Peggy is survived by her mother, Jacquelyn Corley, of Altus, brother Robert (Bob) Corley, Oklahoma City, and sister, Carol Corley of Des Moines, Iowa and two nieces and many friends.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Moore and Rev. Keith Wiginton officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
