Marilyn Weaver Buck
June 27, 1938 " February 1, 2015
Marilyn W. Buck was born June 27, 1938, to Eddie and Mary Tina (Davidson) Weaver in Altus, OK. She graduated from Altus High School and attended the University of Oklahoma where she was a proud member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Marilyn was a life-long educator in the Altus Public School District.
Marilyn had a charming personality and her beautiful smile would light up the room. She was beautiful. Marilyn and Joe enjoyed traveling in their motor home to all kinds of destinations. They loved to play golf and to tailgate with family and friends at OSU football games. She loved family gatherings and decorating for the holidays. She loved interior design, and she would look through mountains of magazines for decorating ideas for all occasions. She loved her friends in Altus and enjoyed her PEO Club and coffee group. She was loved by many.
Marilyn is survived by her sister Carol, five children: Tina Cossey, Teri Philbrick, Toye Mitchell and husband George, Gregg Buck and wife Andrea, Mary Moore and husband Billy. Marilyn had nine grandchildren: Whitney and husband Taylor, Stacy and husband Anthony, Megan, Brayden, Abbey, Carson, Jacob, Bennett and Justin, who lovingly called her "Mernie". She also has one niece Ree and nephew Robert.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband Joe, parents Eddie and Mary Tina, and her brother Ed.
Graveside services will be held at Restlawn Cemetery in Altus, Oklahoma, on Friday, February 6th, 2015, at 2:00 o"clock in the afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer"s Association in her honor, to support much needed research and support programs for this debilitating disease: www.alz.org .
