Obituary for Mark Carroll Kerr
Mark Carroll Kerr, age 86, died Sunday, November 1st, 1992, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Services are set for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 1992 at the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Ken Pate and Rev. Bob Feist will officiate. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home. Masonic Rites will be performed at the cemetery.

Mr. Kerr was born June 4, 1906 to Rev. William Milas and Viola Pickering Kerr at Corsicanna, TX. On May 20, 1925, he was married to Francis Elizabeth Seay at Headrick, OK. He was a farmer in the Headrick and Friendship communities until he entered the construction field in 1940. Before his retirement in 1972, he was either Superintendent or Foreman on several projects in the area, including the Bureau of Reclamation Dam at Lake Altus, the Capehart Housing Project, the (original) hospital and "Ready House" at Altus AFB, the Altus High School Auditorium and the Altus Lincoln Center. He was a life long member of the Methodist Church, having moved his membership to the Altus First Methodist Church in 1940.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; three brothers, Hugh, Carl and Ernest Kerr; one sister, Grace Mann.

Survivors include: his wife, Fannie Kerr of the home in Altus, OK; two children, Bob Kerr and Betty Craven of Altus, OK; a sister,Pearl Ricks of Norman, OK; a nephew, Homer Mann of San Antoniko, TX, who was reared in the home as a brother; five grandchildren, Nancy Thomason of Red Rock, OK, Robert Keith Kerr of Warren, OK, Mark Craven, Robin Wenk and Roger Kerr all of Altus, OK; seven great-grandchildren.
