Funeral services for marlin E. Smith, 68, of Altus are scheduled for 11:00am, Monday, August 23, at the Lamley-Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Oneonta, Alabams. Burial will follow at the Greens Chapel Cemetery in Cleveland, Alabama. Mr. Smith passed away August 19, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. Mr Smith was born February 25, 1925 in Alabama to Doc and Stella (Stevensen) Smith. Mr. Smith was a heavy equipment operator and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army. Lowell-Tims Funeral is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Smith is survived by his children; Ricky Smith and Yvonne of Altus, Oklahoma; Debbie Gulbrandsen and Carl of Altus, Oklahoma; brothers Ray Smith of Pinson, Alabama; Charles Smith of Naples Florida; sisters, Lee Earl Rogers of Homestead, Florida; Vaynell Jones of Georgia; Mary Ellen Condrey of Valdosta, Georgia; six grandchildren.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, one son Jerry Smith in 1986.
