Obituary for Martha Ann Skinner
Martha Anne Skinner,74, of Mangum, Oklahoma passed away on Wednesday, June 16th, 2021, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Martha was born February 22, 1947, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Nathaniel and Mary Bell Davis. She grew up in Sayre, Oklahoma and later moved to Mangum, Oklahoma where she made a home. After working at Mangum Nursing Center, she then moved on to the Mangum School System as a teacher’s aide. Martha was also a member at St. John Baptist Church in Mangum. Her hobbies included cooking, cleaning, fishing, playing cards and Pokeno, shopping, going to garage sales and casinos, and hanging out with family and friends.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents; The fathers of her children, John Skinner Sr. and Donnie Hurd; Aunt- Ozelia Pickins; Uncle- Scott Hendricks; Sister- Sevilia Smith; Brothers- Jimmy Norwood, James Davis, and Pershon Davis.
Left to honor Martha’s memory are her children, Victoria Y. Gilmore, and husband Sammy, John S. Skinner & wife Kim Davis, and Billy R. Skinner, all of Mangum, Oklahoma; Sisters, Liz Lee of Elgin, Oklahoma, Mary & Joe Jackson of Hobart, Oklahoma, and Linda Davis of Mangum, Oklahoma; Brothers, Nathaniel Davis Jr., Ralph Davis, and David Davis, of Mangum, Oklahoma. Seventeen grandkids; Sixteen great-grandkids; As well as many nieces and nephews and extended family members. Martha was well known all over and had a host of friends and family and will be missed.
