Obituary for Marvin Smith
Marvin Smith, age 73, longtime resident of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma, City.

Marvin was born on July 1, 1949 in Omaha, Nebraska to his parents Garland and Ilean Smith. Marvin served his country in the United States Air Force first as a jet mechanic and then as a Flight Engineer. He served on C-141's and loved that Airplane. He loved telling stories about all his adventures flying around the world. He made many lifelong friends in the Air Force. Marvin served his country for over twenty years receiving numerous medals and awards before retiring as Master Sergeant in 1988. On December 10, 1990 Marvin married Tina (Burlison) Smith in Vernon, Texas and they would have celebrated their thirty-second anniversary this year. He then started doing the next thing he loved, teaching as a Flight Engineer. First for Hughes, then for Boeing, retiring in 2010. Then began the great remodel, Marvin redid his entire house room by room. He loved building things and working with his hands.

Marvin was an active and loyal member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus, lifetime member of the VFW and a longtime member of the 57th Alumni Association. He received degrees in Aviation Maintenance and Airport Management and he enjoyed many hobbies, including; watching the Steelers and Thunder games and his "babies", Corbin and Charley, Angel "babies" Toby and Finley. Marvin loved his family and he was known for his dry sense of humor and his generous heart.

Preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Ilean Smith; sister, Dorothy Donley; daughter, Jessica Case Smith.

Marvin is survived by his wife Tina Smith; son, Timothy Case and wife Cindi; daughters, Angela Sullivan and husband Joseph; Barbara Smith and husband Ryan Norton; and Melissa Parker and husband Patrick; bonus daughter, Mona Guerra; special friends, Eulis and Linda Mobley; his brother, Larry Tucker; grandchildren, Talia, Joshua, Gabriel, Kathryn Elizabeth, Carlos, Carson, Quinn; bonus grandchildren, Alysa and Reggie Guerra; as well as numerous other family members and many friends.

Viewing hours will be from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Wednesday evening, November 9, 2022 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus, Oklahoma.

Rosary services will be at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus, Oklahoma with Rosary lead by Deacon Eulis Mobley.

Catholic Funeral Mass services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Altus, Oklahoma with Rev. Fr. Joseph David
officiating.

Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery in Altus, Oklahoma with Military Honors rendered by the United States Air Force, Altus Air Force Base Honors Team.
