Obituary for Mary Ella Watkins

Mary Ella “Blain” Watkins passed away peacefully in Mangum ,Oklahoma

On September 13,2025.

She is singing with the angels now , and walking the golden streets with rest of her family.

Mary became a special gift to her parents , Rufus M. and Nova, Key” Blain in Mangum,

Oklahoma on February 10,1936. She joined a home of two brothers , she was also joined

By eight more children in years to follow, that made her a loving childhood.

Mary started school at Ozark then later she graduated from Centralvue school, in Russell, Oklahoma. Mary went to work for Carrolls Tomato House in Oklahoma City with her brother, Alan Blain. After two years she enlisted in the Air Force where she spent the next three years at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. Thats where she met William “Bill” Watkins. After they moved back to Mangum she went to work at Kellwood Sewing Factory in Altus, Oklahoma. When they closed she worked at Altus Athletics until they closed. She enjoyed working with her brother Richard Blain in their vineyard, where they Raised grapes and sold them to winery. She also enjoyed spending time with her brothers and sisters and extended family.

Preceding her in Heaven are her parents, husband, brothers William Crile “Bill”, Alan Key, James Rufus Sr., Buford Paul and Richard Mack Blain: Sisters Novetta Carol “Blain”McMaster, Mona Frances “Blain” Blanscett and Helen Mae “Blain” Bentley-Aebischer. Five nephews Richard Alan, James Rufus Jr.Blain, Joe and David McMasters and Jeremy Shawn Blain. Six sisters-in-laws also one brother-in-law Wylie Blain.

Mourning her passing to Heaven are her siblings Gloria Blain, Benny Kirk/Carmen Blain. Many nieces and nephews. Helping with her care were special niece Lisa Youngblood and her daughter Kat Foster Holder and Jessica McMurray, Janice Warren,Rudy Garcia Jr. and friend Janet Rockhold and Marand Blain. She dearly loved her family. She will be missed by very, very much by all.
