Mary Ellen (Flynn) Campbell left this life and went on to her eternal life to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus and her Heavenly Father. She passed into eternity at 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. She passed peacefully in the loving presence of her family.
Mary was born on December 5, 1919, in Lancaster, South Carolina, to Clyde and Verdie Flynn. She had three brothers: Alva, Leon , and Ray. The family moved to Mangum, Oklahoma, in 1928 where they farmed for a living. It was in Mangum that Mary lived and grew up. She married Curran R. Campbell on April 4, 1941. They were happily married for 63 years until Curran's death in 2004. Their union produced two children: John Flynn in 1942 and Karen Ellen in 1948.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, and her three brothers. She leaves behind many wonderful friends and a family who loved her dearly. These include her children, John and Karen, four grandchildren, Kerry Keith, John C. Campbell, Megan Williams, and Allison (Sunny) Rayles. Also, she is survived by six great-grandchildren: Catherine, Haley, John Michael, Jacob, Jocelyn and Jackson. Mary also leaves behind a sister-in-law Lazelle Flynn and a cousin Alcye Wilkie, both of whom were especially loved by Mary. She will be missed by all who knew her.
The family will greet friends at visitation from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus, Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Blair Cemetery in Blair, Oklahoma under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
