Obituary for Mary Louise Martin
Mary Louise martin, age 86, of Altus passed away Monday, December 13, 1999 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.

Mary was born January, 1913 in Paris, Texas to C.B. and Pinkie (Johnson) Allen. she had lived in the Altus and Jackson County area since 1938. In May of 1927 Mary and J.B. Jones were united in marriage in Paris, Texas, he preceded her in death October 19, 1947. She later married James Martin in 1955 in Altus, Oklahoma, he preceded her in death in September of 1983.

Mary was a very devoted and active member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Altus, where she served faithfully as the church clerk, she was involved with mission work, and sang in the choir. She was a past member of the Eastern Star. Mary's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by three children, Eunna F. McMillan of Altus, Oklahoma, Betty P. Phillips of Lawton, Oklahoma, John L. Jones and wife, Ida of Denver, Colorado; ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a special friend, Ida Allen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, J.B. Jones; her second husband, James Martin; one son, J.B. Jones, Jr.; one brother, and one sister.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00am Friday, December 17, 1999 at the Madedonia Baptist Church with Rev, Kenneth Broughton. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
