Mary Maheu, 84, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013 at her home in Duke, Oklahoma. Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 am Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Lowell-Tim's Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating.

Mary was born June 21, 1929 on the Goodnight Ranch in Texas to Bill and Mary (Bogue) Burge. As a young girl, her family moved to Southwest Oklahoma where they eventually settled in Eldorado. She graduated high school with the last graduating class from Louis Hill Public School. On May 10, 1947 she married John Troy Doughten from Eldorado. They later made their home in Olustee where they raised 5 children. John preceded her in death April 3, 1968.

She spent a couple of years in Minnesota before returning home and marrying C.J. Maheu on Jan. 13, 1980. They made their home in Duke where they partnered in several enterprises throughout their marriage.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband John Doughten; her parents, Willie "Bill" and Mary Burge; two grandsons, Randy Scott Gillis and Troy Allen "Bubba" Doughten; brother-in-law Dow Kendrick; sister-in-law Esther Burge; mother-in-law Violet Moffett.

She is survived by her husband, C.J. Of the home in Duke; five children, Pat Doughten and wife Joannie of Duke, Lynn Fisher of Williamston, South Carolina, Johnny Doughten and wife Janet of Iowa Park, Texas, Karen Shrum and husband Jimmy of Mangum and Kathy Buhle of Duke; three step children, William Maheu of Denver, Colorado, Crystal Daniels and husband Bob of Littleton, Colorado, and John J. Maheu of Denver, Colorado; fourteen grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; one step great grandchild and several great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers Billy Burge of Colorado, Bobby Burge and wife Linda of Texas, and David Burge and wife Barbara of Eldorado, Oklahoma; four sisters, Lorraine Kendrick and Peggy Averman and husband Jack, both of Colorado, Sally Hickerson and husband Clyde of Gould, Oklahoma, Beth Crow and husband Jerry of Oklahoma City; and best friend Oleta Allen as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorials can be made in Mary Mahue's name to the Jackson County Memorial Hospital Hospice, 1208 E. Tamarack Rd., Altus, Oklahoma.
