Matias Reyes Esquivel, age 54, of Altus, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Esquivel was born in Littlefield, Texas on March 15, 1960, to Federico and Nicolasa (Reyes) Esquivel. As a child he moved to Immokalee, Florida where he attended school. At the age of seventeen, he moved to Altus where he lived until his death. An avid mechanic, Matias enjoyed working on automobiles. In his spare time he enjoyed dancing.
Preceded in death by his parents, one son, Toney Esquivel and a grandson, Anthony Jacob Luera he is survived by his girlfriend, Bella Davila; two children, Matias Luera of Oklahoma City and Erica Esquivel of Altus; eight grandchildren, Toney Esquive, Jr., Marissa Esquivel, Matias Luera, Jr., Daylyn Luera, Cameron Luera, Johnathan Luera, Makenna Luera and Laden Esquivel; eight sisters, Estela Guerra of Altus, Juanita Barrientez of Immokalee, Florida, Jacinta Vega of Altus, Eva Navarro of Altus, Lupe Cervantez of Immokalee, Florida, Sylvia Hernandez of Oklahoma City, Dalia Diaz of Altus and Linda Pendelton of Oklahoma City; one brother, Lunico Esquivel of Mangum along with many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services for Matias Esquivel will be at 10 a.m., Monday, July 14, 2014, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel.
