Obituary for Melvin Dan Bailey
Melvin Dan Bailey, age 77, was born October 7th, 1916 in Alief, Texas. He was a longtime resident of the Altus area. Mr. Bailey passed away Wednesday, September 7th, 1994, in the Clinton Regional Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michel D'Annecy officiating. Graveside Services will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Yukon, Oklahoma.
He and Jean Snow were united in marriage at Dallas, TX. Mr. Bailey was a retired veteran of World War II, serving in the Army and Air Force, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, V.F.W. and the Elks Lodge.
Survivors include: his wife, Jean Bailey of the home; three children, Brent Bailey and wife Jean of Dallas, TX, Kay Vaughan and husband Jim of Lawton, OK and Jerri Hart of Monroe, CT; one brother, Leon Bailey of Sterling City, TX; three granddaughters, Pam Hyde, Leslie McWhorter and Shannon Maxey.
He was preceded in death by: two brothers.
