Mildred (Millie) Gibson age 76 was born September 7, 1919, in
Clarksville, Texas, the daughter of the late Bert and Nettie (East) Stephens. She was a longtime Jackson County resident, moving to Altus from Hollis in 1966. Mrs. Gibson passed way Thursday, December 28, 1995, in Jackson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be at 2:00pm, Saturday, December 30, 1995, in the Lowee-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Bi;; Osborne officiating. Burial will be in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. On September 1, 1973, she and Charlie Gibson were united in marriage in Altus, Oklahoma. Millie worked for many years for Kellwoods, retiring in 1990.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00pm, Friday, December 29, 1995, at the Funeral Home.
Survivors include spouse Charlie Gibson of the home; children MaryWayne Moates of Altus, Oklahoma; Clyde Turner and Alma Ruth of Amarillo, Texas; Jean Stinson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Shirley Wiley and Ron of Bismark, North Dakota; sister-in-law Alberta Miller of Little Rock, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren; host of great-grandchildren; 1 niece; frances Meyer of Lawton, Oklahoma.
Preceded in death by parents, 2 brothers; Claude and Marvin Stephens; one sister; Ruby Bryant.
