Obituary for Mildred Jean Glover
Mildred Jean Glover, 96, of Altus, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019, at Lawton's

Mildred was born in Granite, Oklahoma, September 17, 1922, to Bonnie and R.L. Wilcox.
She moved with her family to Altus where her parents owned Altus' first grocery store. Mildred
attended school in Altus and graduated from Altus High School in 1940. She attended Altus
Junior College and Oklahoma A&M, and then married Ernest Eley with whom she had two
children, Jean and Patricia. She remarried to Clifford Glover on October 7, 1966, and was
married for 44 years. For most of her career, Mildred was an officer over certificates of deposit
at the First National Bank of Altus. Mildred enjoyed her work and always had a smile for her
customers. Working as long as possible, she finally retired at 76 years old. She was a life long
member of the First Baptist Church. She and Cliff built, and owned a home on an acerage north
of town where she lived until her passing.
Mildred was known for her love of people, sense of humor and vivacious, fun-loving
personality. She loved music, dancing, working, telling jokes and generally having fun. But
most of all she was known for her love of her family. She was a forceful personality until the
end of her days, and in her 96 years she had opporutnity to love and spoil her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren. She was continually sustained by her faith in God.
She is survived by her two daughters, Elois Jean Eley of Houston, Texas and Patricia

She was greatly loved by her family and friends, and will be missed everyday.
