Obituary for Murel Pug Nelson
Murel "Pug" Nelson, age 67, of Duke, Oklahoma, was born January 20th, 1929, in Russell, Oklahoma, the son of F. T. and Oma (Carter) Nelson. He was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. Mr. Nelson passed away Wednesday, April 17th, 1996, in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 19, 1996 in the Rock Cemetery, North of Duke, Oklahoma with Rev. William Nelson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home, Altus.
On September 16, 1950, he and Weionda L. Nelson were united in marriage at Duke, Oklahoma. Pug was a retired Machinist.
Survivors include: his Mother, Oma Nelson of Granbury, TX; two children, Jarita L. Cook and husband Tim of Mangum, Oklahoma and Dan Nelson and wife Rhonda of Weatherford, OK; two brothers, William Nelson of Granbury, TX and Darrell Nelson also of Granbury, TX; four grandchildren, Rebel Cook, Seth Cook, Debbie Suderman and Shawn Nelson.
He was preceded in death by: his wife, Weionda Nelson, March 20, 1994; and his Father, F.T. Nelson.
