Obituary for Nathaniel Rowans
Nathaniel Rowans, age 66, of Altus, Oklahoma, died at the Wilbarger General Hospital on Wednesday, February 26th, 1992.
Services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Macedonioa Baptist Church in Altus officiated by Rev. Aulston Ridley. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Rowans was born in Tipton, Oklahoma on October 22, 1926 to Alphen and Nancy Rowans. They moved to Altus from Frederick in 1927. He was a retired mechanic and joined the Macedonia Baptist Church at an early age under Rev. Thomas. He moved to Oklahoma City where he was a member of the 5th Street Baptist Church, but he soon moved back to Altus rejoining the Macedonia Baptist Church under Rev. Ridley.
Survivors include: two children, Nadine Jenkins of Altus, OK and Julie Martin of Arizona; a brother, Jolly Brown of Oklahoma City, OK; four sisters, Rosezene Johnson of Tulsa OK, Thelma Carrington of Okema, OK, Lorene Lyons and Isabell Jackson, both of Altus, OK; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Rose Mary Rowans; three children.
