Obituary for Nettie F. Griffin
Nettie Griffin,82, long-time resident of Mangum, Oklahoma, returned her heavenly home on July 27th, 2021. Nettie was born to the late, Gentry and O’Dean Warren in Mangum, Oklahoma. Nettie was raised and educated in Mangum, Oklahoma. Following high school, Nettie attended and graduated from nursing school.
Nettie worked as an L.P.N. and a caretaker for the elderly. Nettie was not only faithful to her career and patients but also to the Lord. She attended the Rose Assembly Church for 45 years, taught Sunday School there, and was their Church Treasurer. Nettie’s main hobby was studying the word of God and attending church services. All those who loved Nettie would describe her as “Nice, Humble, Sweet and a servant of God.”
Nettie was greeted at the gates of heaven by her parents, Gentry and O’Dean Warren, and a son, Michael Griffin.
Left to honor Nettie’s memory are her son, James Gentry Griffin and wife Susan; two brothers, Terry and James Allen Warren; six grandchildren, Jordan and Kristen Guthmann, Jean and Erin Despres, Westin Griffin, and Micah Gautreaux; seven great-grandchildren, Warren, Gibson, and Hallie Guthmann, Logan Despres, Avery McClendon, and Harper and Sawyer Gautreaux, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and her beloved church family.
The Griffin family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2021, at The Lighthouse Church, Mangum, Oklahoma, Pastor Gary Usher, and Pastor Shawn Laughlin will be officiating. Graveside services will follow to Riverside Cemetery, Mangum, Oklahoma.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Greer Funeral Home, Mangum, Oklahoma.
