Obituary for Novella Richards
Novella Richards, 86 passed away peacefully in her sleep June 18, 2019. She was born May 12 1933 in Hollis Ok to Mae Etta and Elbert Richards.
Novella was given the Nickname NO by her family and friends but her grandchildren called her Bulla. Novella was a great woman of many talents. She had a green thumb and she grew beautiful vegetable and flower gardens. She could also sew and would make clothing for her children and grandchildren and she was also a great cook. Novella would prepare large traditional soul food dinners every Sunday and these Sunday dinners would bring the entire family together. Family was very important to Novella and during her entire life she informed her children and grandchildren to always keep the family together.
For many years Novella worked at Kellwood and once she retired she spent her time cooking, gardening, and teaching her grandchildren about God. Novella would always quote bible scriptures such as "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness shall be added unto you" and "Don't repay evil for evil" and "blessed are the peace makers" and "help those who have not" were some of the bible verses that she would quote when she was dishing out life lessons. Novella displayed patience, generosity, and unconditional love to everyone that crossed her path. To know her was to love her and she will be truly missed.
