Obituary for Odessa Pierce
Funeral Services for Odessa Pierce, age 72, of Altus, Oklahoma, are scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 1994 at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery. Rev. Dave Chittenden will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Mrs. Pierce passed away November 27th, 1994 in Altus. She was born December 7th, 1921 in the Friendship Community to Lynn and Dovie (Boaz) Gillispie. On December 26, 1942, she married David "Curley" Pierce in Altus, Oklahoma. Mrs. Pierce had worked for NAF in the Billeting Department on Altus Air Force Base. Mrs. Pierce was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m. Monday night.
Survivors include: one daughter, Ettie Faye Wilson and her husband G. "Flip" of Altus, OK; one brother, Monroe Gillispie of Mangum, OK; one sister, Betty Adams of Levant, Maine; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one long-time companion, Kenneth Shuttleworth of Altus, Oklahoma.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, David "Curley" Pierce, 11-25-1958; her parents; one brother, A.L. Gillispie.
