Obituary for Oleta Mae Hatton

Oleta Mae Hatton

Oleta Mae Hatton passed away Thursday, May 11, 2006, at the English Village Manor.

Oleta was born August 19, 1928, in Altus, Oklahoma, to William Thomas and Rosie (James) Busby. On June 8, 1946, she and Johnnie Hatton were united in marriage in Vernon, Texas. They made their home in Altus where Oleta worked for Jackson County Courthouse as a bookkeeper and as a secretary for the County Commissioners for over 20 years. Johnnie and Oleta had over 55 wonderful years together before Johnnie passed away in 2002.

Oleta was a member of the Nazarene Church and took pride in being a wife and mother. She enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her daughters.

Mrs. Hatton was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Johnnie; three sisters, Velma, Lucille, and Bonnie; and by two brothers, W.T. Busby and Melvin Busby.

She is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Janice Loftis and Judy Derkson, both of the home in Altus; three grandsons, Scott Doll and wife, Joanne of San Antonio, Texas, David Jeffery Dickson and his wife, Leslie of Portland, Oregon, and Michael Derkson of Laguna Hills, California; two great-grandchildren, Trinity and Winter Dickson; one sister, Vonneda Douglas of Altus; and by many loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
