Orville Southward
Orville Southward, 81, of Altus died Sunday May 12, 1991 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He was born May 8, 1910 at Lakeview, Texas. He married Iula Jane Fancher and she preceded him in death September 1962. He married Lona Hixson Southward June 19, 1965 in Altus, Oklahoma. He was a long time resident of Jackson County having resided here since 1918. He was a retired farmer. He was a life member of the Headrick Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He served on the Board of Directors for the Headrick Coop for many years and was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church.
Services are scheduled for 3:30 pm Tuesday 1991 May 14, at the First United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Bob Feist, Rev. Boyd Whitehead, Rev. Len Gibson. Interment will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Mr. Southward is survived by his wife Lona Hixson Southward, Altus, Oklahoma; children, Gene Jameson and Bobby of Headrick, Oklahoma; Patsy Bynum, Woodward, Oklahoma; brothers, Horold Southward, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mavis Southward, Saltillo, Texas; sisters, Fay Southward, Friona, Texas; May Dell Hope, Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister in law Marge Southward, Herford, Texas; step daughter and son in law, Jonna and Dick Whatley, Houston, Texas; six grandchildren and two step grandchildren; two great agrand sons and one step great granddaughter.
Mr. Southward was preceded in death by his first wife Iula Jane Fancher, September 1962 mother and father, three brothers and sisters, son, James T. Southward September 1945.
