Obituary for Patricia Ann Copeland
Patricia Ann Copeland, 74, of Altus, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2010 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Patricia was born in Okarche, OK on November 4, 1936 to Martha and Herman Thiems. She met Bobby Copeland at White Oak School where they graduated in 1954. Bobby enlisted in the Air Force soon after and they were married on May 13, 1956. After his first tour in France, where they started their family, they were stationed in Altus in 1959. They have since made Altus their home.
Pat started Beauty School in 1966, became an instructor, and worked at Aline"s Beauty School for one year. She then worked at Pat"s Pamper Parlor inside Brumley & Higgs Beauty Supply until 1991 when she and Bob bought Park Lane Beauty Salon. They ran a successful Hair Salon/Tanning Booth business until 2001 when they retired due to her health issues.
Since retiring, Pat has enjoyed traveling, crocheting, and spending time with her children, grand children, and great-grand children, as well as spending time at their cabin on Lake Altus. She especially enjoyed gardening and pulling in those big catfish at the lake.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Copeland of the home; a sister, Penny Lierbo, of Bellaire, TX; a brother Louie Thiems and his wife Betty, of Vinita, OK; two children and their spouses, Bruce and Pamela Copeland and Helen and Bill Holle, all of Altus; five grand children, Brian, Scott, and Lisa Copeland and Michael and Michelle Holle; and three great-grand children, Riley, Caden, and Nathan.
Memorial Services will be held at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Patricia Copeland to the Cancer Centers of SW Oklahoma, JCMH Campus (CCSWO, JCMH Campus)
