Pauline Anthony Joyner


Pauline Anthony Joyner was born May 27, 1891 at Sumner County Tennessee. She died May 4, 1993 in Altus. She was the daughter of pioneers, Alfred and Flora Bracken Anthony. They moved to Jackson County from Tennessee in 1907. She married William Elmer Joyner and he preceded her in death in 1944.

She taught school in the Vincent area for several years before moving to Eldorado. She owned and operated a Dry Goods Store for many years in Eldorado before retirement. She was along time member and very active in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Elbert Shoemaker, Rev. Wilbur Meece, and Rev. Craff officiating. Interment will bi in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Survivors include Nieces; Pauline Rodgers and husband Earl of Gallitian, Tennessee; Allene McVey of Hartford, Conn.; Mary Helen McGlothin of Gallitian, Tennessee.

Preceded in death by husband William Elmer Joyner, July of 1944 and parents.
