Pearl Margaret Smith was born June 17th, 1896 in Dresden, Texas to J. R. and Annie McGovern Smith. She has been a resident of Altus since 1901. Pearl started to work at the National Bank of Commerce in 1919 and retired in January of 1966. Everyone in town knew and loved Pearl, especially the other employees of the bank. Pearl was also an Eastern Star and the First Methodist Church. She is survived by brother, J. M. Smith of Altus and three sisters Uola Smith, Eura Smith and Mrs. R. E. Johnson, all of Altus. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.


Services for Pearl Margaret Smith are scheduled for 2:30 P. M.Friday, April 4th, 1967at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Darrell Hardy officiating. Burial will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
