Obituary for Pearl Mikles
Pearl Rutledge Mikles, 96, former Altus resident, passed away Monday, June 9, 1997 in Marshall, Texas where she lived since 1990. Services have been scheduled for 10:00am Thursday, June 11, 1997, at Lowell-Tims chapel with two of her Grandsons officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery with local arrangements under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.

Pearl was born February 27, 1901, in Perigould, Arkansas. She was the daughter of the late George Washington and Mary (Butler)Rutledge. She received her education in the Oklahoma Public Schools. On March 10, 1930, Pearl and Joe Mikles were united in marriage in Kinta, Oklahoma. Mr. Mikles preceded her in death in January of 1956. Mrs Mikles was a homemaker and a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Altus. She was a former member of the Headrick Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children; J.B. Mikles and Mikdred of Bakersfield, Ca.; Irene Spence and Rayford of Sico, Orl; Mercedes Rico of Visilia, Ca.; Patsy Sykes of Jefferson, Texas; Sandra Dinsmore and Gary of Jefferson, Texas; Trena Garver and David of Noble, Oklahoma; sister Lilly Jackman of Dinuba, Ca.; 15 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; daughter-in-law Hattie Mikles of Augusta, Ga.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents; husband, Arch Mikles, January 1956; one son, Doyle Mikles; 4 grandchildren and 1 daughter, Vinita Mikles.
