Pearl S. Spradlin, 97, long time resident of Duke died at the English Village Nursing Home Friday. Services have been set for Sunday at 3:00pm in the First Baptist Church of Duke officiated by Rev. Eugene Foreman. Burial will be in rock Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims funeral Home. Mrs. Spradlin was born April 9, 1893 in Lamar, Alabama. In the winter of 1899 she spent the night at Doan's Crossing with her parents W.D. and Nancy Smith. They settled in Old Greer Count in a Dugout. Her family returned to Alabama in 1910 where she married Burl J. Spradlin at Franklin, Georgia. Returning to Oklahoma they settled in the Duke area in 1926. She was a homemaker and for many years she worked in the Vacation Bible School of the First Baptist Church of Duke.

Mrs. Spradlin is survived by her children, B.J. Spradlin, Winnsboro, Texas; Woodrow Spradlin, Altus, Oklahoma; Dick Spradlin, Amarillo, Texas; Gladys Slaughter, Amarillo, Texas; Callie Thygerson, Orem, Utah; geraldine Gray, Lawton, Oklahoma; Ina Murl Raffety, Lawton, Oklahoma; Myrtle Comstock, Long Beach, California; sister, Etta Knight, Roanoak, Alabama; Ethel Brown, Lagrange, Georgia; Iline Marlow, Globe, Arzonia.

Mrs. Spradlin was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Burl J. Spradlin (1979) daughters, Twila Jo Beard, Nora Alice Claiborne, Son, Rister Burl Spradlin.
