Obituary for Pete Plank
Eugene Earl "Pete" Plank, age 80, passed away January 6, 2021, at his home in Woodward, OK where he recently moved to be near family.
He was born November 26, 1940 in Pampa, Texas. Pete grew up in Hereford, TX and attended Texas Tech University where he majored in Agricultural Economics. In 1963, he was an International Farm and Youth Exchange student to Uruguay, where he participated in a 6-month exchange program in which he lived with local families and helped them improve their farming operations. He was fluent in Spanish due to his time in South America and used that gift his entire life. He loved farming and cattle and passed that down to his children and grandchildren.
He married his best friend, Jo Meda (Masters) Plank on August 13, 1966 in Hollis, OK. After farming and ranching in Colorado, they moved to Muleshoe, TX in 1973. Lifelong friendships were made through International Business Men's Full Gospel, which made a significant influence on his relationship with his Savior, Jesus Christ. He continued to grow in his walk with God and he never shied away from sharing his personal testimony with others. Through his example of unconditional love, Pete made a significant impact in his daughters' relationships in knowing Christ Jesus. He was incredibly faithful to his "petticoat brigade" of females in his family. Although some thought he was hard, he was tender hearted and would shed a tear at a good Hallmark movie. He worked tirelessly to support his girls and helped them succeed to the best of his ability. Through their various moves from Cleveland, TX to Hillsboro, TX, and on to Hollis, OK lifelong friends were made which was centered around their faith in God.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jo Meda Plank; his three daughters, Amanda (Jerry) Miller of Floydada, TX, Pam (Corey) Moffet of Woodward, OK, and Julie (Jesus) Diaz of Amarillo, TX. Eight grandchildren, Caleb Miller, D.W. Moffet, Carson Miller, Ella Moffet, Lindee Miller, Katherine Moffet, Maximus Diaz, and Abigail Diaz.
