Phyllis Barbara Canada Parker, 67, of Hollis died Saturday, March 9, in her home.
Phyllis was born to Jewel and Ora Canada on March 16, 1951. She grew up in Hollis, Oklahoma graduating from Hollis High School in 1969. On October 6, 1967 Phyllis was united in marriage to Woody Parker. Phyllis was elected Harmon County Clerk proudly serving Harmon County from January 1971 until her retirement June 30, 2000. She spent countless hours serving the county and community with tremendous pride and enjoyment. She was active at the State level helping to change legislation for County Government during her terms in office.
Phyllis was also active in Hollis Little League, serving as secretary for many years. She served as President of Hollis All-Sports during the 1996-1997 school year. After her retirement from Harmon County, she worked for Gray Ag Air in Hollis from 2002 until 2011.
Phyllis lived life to the fullest and her passion was her family. From little league games to swim meets she was always proud to be her grandson's number one fan. She always had a smile on her face and loved to greet each and every person with words of encouragement.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter Wendy Parker of Altus, Oklahoma; her son Shawn and wife Kadi Parker of Hollis, Oklahoma; three grandsons Canyon Hart, Matt Parker, and Jake Parker; one brother Joe and wife Debbie Canada of Atkins, Arkansas; one sister Ottalee Azbell of Atkins, Arkansas; one sister-in-law Judy and husband Gary Robinson of Hollis, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Woody Parker; her parents; two sisters, Jean Jenkins and Yvonne Teas; and two brothers Rosco and Wilbur Canada.
The Parker family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday March 11, 2019 at Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday March 12, 2019 at McKnight Cemetery in Hollis, Oklahoma.
Services have been entrusted to Harmon County Funeral Home, Hollis, Oklahoma.
