Obituary for Rachel I. Hill
Rachel Irene Hill was born June 7th, 1912 at Altus, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Walker and Della (Willingham) Cash. She died November 25th, 1998 at Gainesville, Texas. She married Lovell Hill, January 16, 1928 at Waurika, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death June 16, 1989. She was a lifelong resident of Altus, Oklahoma and Jackson County, where she farmed with her husband until 1959. She then worked for the Altus School System, retiring in 1984 after serving 25 years. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include: one son, Wendell Hill and his wife Fern of Headrick, OK; one daughter, Joan and Howard Porter of Whitesboro, TX; two sisters, Ruby Busy of Missouri and Opal Jenkins of Pine Top, AZ; two brothers, Herbert Cash of Monahans, TX and Otis Cash of Banning, CA; grandchildren, Diane and Mike Dishman, Donna and Ben Klepek, Jerri and Brent Duncan and Dennis and Becky Chisum; also, several step-grandchildren, Chris and Derrick Dishman, Tyler and Holly Klepek, Kelsi McDeffitt, Christen and Jason Duncan and Billy and Dylan Chisum.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and four brothers.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28, 1998 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
