Obituary for Raymond C. Peyton
Funeral Services for Raymond C. Peyton, age 84, lifelong resident of Jackson County, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 26, 1996 at the Thomas Street Church of Christ. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery. Jack McKeown will officiate.

Mr. Peyton passed away April 24, 1996 at the local hospital. Mr. Peyton was born March 16th, 1912 in Grandfield, OK to Jim and Mamie Peyton. Mr. Peyton married Corda Metheny on September 29, 1933 in Altus. Mr. Peyton was a farmer and member of the Thomas Street Church of Christ.

Mr. Peyton was preceded in death by: his parents; three brothers and three sisters. Lowell Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include: his wife, Corda Peyton of the home; two children, Eddie Peyton and wife Helen of Oklahoma City, OK and Patsy Higgs and husband Donnie of Amarillo, TX; six grandchildren, Richie and Shari Higgs of Canyon, TX, Kal and Dana Higgs of Amarillo, TX, Steve and Pamela Smith of Oklahoma City, OK, Perry Peyton of Oklahoma City, OK, Jim and Paula Puckett of Altus, OK and Michael Don Higgs of Puyallup, WA; 11 great-grandchildren, Cristy Gilbertson of Oklahoma City, Eddie Peyton of Oklahoma City, Jessica Smith of Oklahoma City, Mandy Puryear, Chester Higgs and Shannon Higgs all of Canyon, TX, Kallie Higgs and Kyle Higgs of Amarillo, TX, Desiree Peyton of Oklahoma City, Kelcy Puckett of Altus, Oklahoma and Jamee Higgs of Puyallup, WA; one great-great-grandchild, Majesta Puryear of Canyon, TX; several nieces and nephews.
