Obituary for Raymond J. Morris
Raymond John Morris passed away Friday, October 3, 1997, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus at the age of 78.

Raymond was born October 17, 1918, in Altus to John and Essie (Dolan) Morris. He was a life-long resident of Altus and Jackson County. He graduated from Victory High School in 1936. Raymond served in the United States Navy during World War II, serving in California and in the South Pacific. He was a life member of the VFW.

Raymond married Kathleen Mullin April 21, 1981, in Altus. He owned and operated Southwest Seed and Delinting Co., Inc. with his brother Howard Morris since 1951. He and his brother also owned and operated Morris Seed Cleaning and Treating, along with three Morris Motor Co. car lots up until his brother passed away. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a very active businessman.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Kathleen Morris of the home in Altus; five children, Kay Roebuck of California, Joni Morris of Arizona, Ricard Wendland of California, Rochelle Husmann of Mustang, Oklahoma, and Randi Warren of Lubbock, Texas; one sister, Nelda Mae Byrd of Altus; twelve grandchildren, Mia, Kari, Mark, Bret, Heather, Misty, Danny, Dustin, Randy, Jr. Ryan, Cory, and Kristen.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Earl and Howard Morris, and one sister, Ruth Mason.
