Funeral Services for Rena Smith, age 90, of Altus, Oklahoma, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 1998 at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Altus City Cemetery. Rev. Bennie Alexander will officiate.
Mrs. Smith passed away November 12, 1998 in Altus. Mrs. Smith was born December 3rd, 1907 in Cameron, Oklahoma to Edward "Ned" and Willie Mae Daggett. She married Cary Smith. Mrs. Smith was an active member of the Pentecostal Church, a homemaker and an avid poetry speaker. Lowell Tims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; four children, Vanzella White, Rutherine White, Tiny Buckner and Mary Ann Buckner; two brothers and seven sisters.
Survivors include: two daughters, Billie Buckner of Wichita Falls, TX and Tommie Jean Buckner also of Wichita Falls, TX; one sister, Dorothy Jackson of Altus, OK; one very special niece, Vashti Cross of Altus; four grandchildren, Eddie Ray Coleman of Dallas, TX, Elaine Coleman of Oklahoma City, OK, Jackie Hunt and Elvita Martin both of Altus, OK; two great-grandchildren, Maurice Coleman of Germany and Latasha Coleman of Dallas, TX; along with a host of other nieces and nephews.
