Richard Dean Smalts was born April 8, 1944 at Elk City, Oklahoma. He was the son of Rev. Everett and Mary Ruth Smalts. He died December 15, 1995 at Altus, Oklahoma. He was a Security Guard at the Cotton Compress and was associated with Smalts Furniture. He moved to Altus in 1983, coming here from Frederick, Oklahoma. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Altus. Services are scheduled for 2:00pm Monday at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with burial following at the Altus Cemetery.
Survivors include parents, Everett L. and Mary Ruth Kingsford Smalts of Altus, Oklahoma; children, April Deon Smalts of Oklahoma City; Russell Dale Smalts of Cheyenne, Wy; brothers Gordon Smalts of Altus; Darrell Smalts of Altus; Ron Smalts of Altus; Jerry Smalts of Oklahoma City; Stanley Smalts of Tulsa; nieces and nephews; Perry and Gina Smalts, Matthew, Kevin and Jennifer Smalts;
