Robert Andrew Swain, 36, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, January 30, 2010. He was born in Holyoke, MA. and raised in Del Rio, TX. Rob graduated from Del Rio High School in 1991. Rob was part of the first Grow Your Own Program at Laughlin AFB with Del Rio High School. The program was under the guidance of Frank Langford. He worked Civil Service at Laughlin from 1991-1996 before moving to Altus and continuing his Civil Service career.
Rob married Erika Porter at First Baptist Church on October 10, 1998. They have three daughters.
They are members for First Baptist Church of Altus. Rob was active with the Security Team and assisted with cooking for church functions. Rob was a member of the Masons and an avid OU fan. Rob"s greatest pride and joy was his family. He enjoyed cooking, carpentry work and watching OU football.
Rob is survived by his wife Erika and daughters, Megan and Morgan age 8 and Bailey age 3. Parents Buddy and Gale Swain of Del Rio, TX.; brother MSGT Jason and Alyssa Swain and daughter of Doral, FL,(US Army) father and mother-in-law Gerald and Marjorie Porter of Altus, Oklahoma.
Funeral Service for Robert A. Swain has been scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Altus Oklahoma, with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the directions of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
The family will receive guests at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home on Friday, February 5, 2010, from 6:30 until 7:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family at First State Bank of Altus.
