Obituary for Robert Averst Tillman
Robert Averst Tillman, longtime Jackson County resident died Thursday, December 26th, 1996 at a local nursing home.

Funeral Services have been scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Jones officiating. Interment will be in the Restlawn Cemetery under the directions of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Mr. Tillman was born January 9, 1905 in Greer County, Oklahoma to James Walford Tillman and Arizona (Gaston) Tillman. He was a farmer in the Duke and Eldorado communities all of his life and a member of the First United Methodist Church at Eldorado.

Mr. Tillman was preceded in death by his wife, Lela Murrell in 1991; his Dad and Mother; three brothers, Rollin, Crawford and Finis; and one sister, Gertrude Curry.

Survivors include: brother-in-law, Ray Murrell and his wife Lucille; nieces, Ann Fleming and her husband Charles of Duke; and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
