Robert Earl "Roudy" Roudebush, age 71, of Altus, passed away Monday afternoon, December 8, 2014, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital, in Altus.

Roudy was born in Altus, on April 12, 1943, to Robert P. (Bob) and Oma (Thurmond) Roudebush. After attending Humphrey School, until it closed, Roudy graduated from Altus High School with the famous "Class of 1962". He began his college career at Stillwater and soon transferred to Southwestern Oklahoma State University, in Weatherford, to be near a girl that would later become his wife. On June 19, 1964, Roudy married the love of his life, Pamela Anne Hein, and they spent the next fifty wonderful years together before his death. While at Southwestern, in the last semester, Roudy"s father died suddenly and he left school to take over the farming operation and never went back. During the next fifty years, Roudy has farmed, ranched and raised his family in Southwest Oklahoma. He served on the Board of Directors of Humphrey"s Coop, Cotton Grower"s Gin, and Lugart- Altus Irrigation District. He was also a former member of the Elks Lodge. A longtime member of the First Baptist Church, Roudy enjoyed spending his spare time "playing" with his muscle cars, drag racing, snow skiing, hunting and most of all being a special "Pop-Pop" to his nine grandchildren. Roudy always lit up the room when he entered with his infectious grin and laugh. No one to him was a stranger, they were only friends he hadn"t met. He made everyone feel welcomed and loved. He embraced life to the fullest and fought a courageous battle to stay with us here on earth. When he passed from this world, he was surrounded by his loving wife and three adoring children. The family takes great comfort knowing he is now healed and Home with his Lord and Savior.

Preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Karla Sue Roudebush, he is survived by his wife, Pam, of the home; three children, Scott Roudebush and wife Michelle, Kelley Roudebush Duncan and husband Jeff and Kim Roudebush Pickett and husband Greg of Altus; nine grandchildren, Reagin Roudebush, Danaca Roudebush, Gant Duncan, Jake Duncan, Nick Duncan, Todd Duncan, Carson Pickett, Mason Pickett and Hailey Pickett; two sisters, Phyllis "Fig" Sheperson and husband Cecil of Altus and Terry Harris of North Carolina; a very special step-father, Garrett Sutton of Hobart; one nephew, Kevin Howard and wife Linda of Altus along with many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home from 6 - 7 pm, Thursday evening and funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Moore officiating. A private family burial will take place.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Cancer Centers of Southwest Oklahoma of Altus, or to Jackson County Memorial Hospital Forth Floor, in memory of Robert Roudebush.
