Obituary for Ronda Jo Parrish
Ronda Jo Parrish of Oklahoma City (formerly of Altus) passed away Sunday, October 17, 2010, at the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City at the age of 60.
Ronda was born December 29, 1949, at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus to Ronald Gene and Jo Ann (Ryan) Parrish. She grew up in Altus and attended Altus public schools. She married Tony R. Hudgens in 1970 at the Altus Air Force Base and then moved to Oklahoma City in 1971. They had one daughter, Rachel Renee Hudgens, who was born February 29, 1972, in Oklahoma City.
Ronda attended nursing school at St. Anthony"s and graduated with a Bachelor"s Degree at Northeastern in Miami, Oklahoma, in May 1988. She worked at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altu, was the Director of Nurses at Park Lane Manor in Altus, as well as several facilities in Oklahoma City, including Baptist Surgical Center.
Ronda"s pride and joy, her granddaughter Jayde Nicole Hudgens, was born July 1, 1993, in Norman, Oklahoma. Ronda loved being a nurse and was very passionate about her work and helping others. She often got attached to her patients and was very much loved by all.
She is survived by her daughter, Rachel R. Hudgens, of Mustang, Oklahoma; her granddaughter, Jayde Hudgens, also of Mustang; her significant other, Robby Dart; three brothers, Stuart L. Parrish of Oklahoma City, Matthew W. Parrish and wife Lisa, also of Oklahoma City, and Jeffrey E. Parrish of Altus; two sisters, Andrea J. Smith and husband Randy of Altus, and Tracy R. Harris and husband Cliff of Boise, Idaho; four nieces, Alishia Parrish and Starla Parrish, both of Oklahoma City, Renae Ross of Boise, Idaho, and Nikki Smith of Altus; one nephew, Casey Smith of Altus, and two great-nieces, Enterprise Parrish and Dayelee Parrish, both of Oklahoma City.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at the Altus Centennial Memorial Center in the Altus City Cemetery (Falcon Road west of the Altus Air Force Base) with Reverend Jim Brown officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
