Obituary for Rosa Torres
Rosa Torres, 82, of Altus, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at English Village Nursing Home in Altus.
Rosa was born May 18, 1927, in Cotulla, Texas, to Apolonio Lomez Gomez and Conception Salina Gomez. She was a homemaker and loved her family, her church, sweets, television, coffee, and bingo.
Rosa is survived by three children, Martin Torres and wife Sandra of Bowling Green, Florida, Alfredo Torres and wife Lydia of Altus, and Lydia Colchado and husband Leon of Bowling Green, Florida; two sisters, Martha Guzman of Saginaw, Michigan and Nellie Gomez of Sister Lake, Michigan; one brother, Alberto Gomez of Bowling Green, Florida; eleven grandchildren, Alfredo Torres, Jr., Joshua Torres, Ashley Torres, Shellie Torres, Rebecca Torres, Candice Torres, Kelly Torres, Ariel Torres, Caesar Colchado, Carlos Colchado, and Rosa Colchado, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Rosa was preceded in death by her father, Apolonio Gomez, her mother Concepcion Gomez, her brothers and sisters, Salvador Gomez, Alejandra Reyes, Josephina Ruiz, Carlotta Luera, Victor Gomez, Delfino Gomez, Rey Gomez, and Janie Gomez.


The family will receive friends Thursday, October 15, at Lowell-Tims Chapel from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 16, 2009, 11:00 a.m. at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Reverend Prakash Madineni officiating.
