Obituary for Rosie Ramirez
Rosie Ramirez, age 60, longtime Altus, Oklahoma resident, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at her home in Altus.
Rosie was born at Fort Sill, Oklahoma on March 4, 1959 to her parents John and Adelia Hill and she grew up in Geronimo, Oklahoma. Rosie met the love of her life, Lupe Flores Ramirez, Jr. in 1971 and on July 28, 1973 they were married in Lawton, Oklahoma and they enjoyed over 39 years of marriage together until Lupe's death in 2013. After getting married they settled in Frederick, Oklahoma and lived there for 30 years until they moved to Altus, Oklahoma. Rosie worked for the Frederick Schools and at Walmart in Altus in the women's clothing department. She was a longtime member of the Bible Baptist Church in Frederick. Rosie enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing and gardening, but what gave her the most joy in life was being with her family and grandchildren and she will be missed very much.
Preceded in death by her husband Lupe; her parents; her brother, Nathan Hill; and her sister, Flora Crump; Rosie is survived by her two children, Chris Ramirez of Altus; and Melissa Doake and husband Brian of Altus; five brothers, Lee Hill of Lawton; Orin "Skinny" Hill of Lawton; Orvil "Peanuts" Hill of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Ronald "Bunky" Hill of Frederick; and Ricky Hill of Frederick; two sisters, Brenda Skinner of Lawton; and Rhonda Harper and husband Rick of Frederick; four grandchildren, Christina Ramirez of Altus; Dominique Scrimage of Altus; Dylan Ramirez of Duke; and Brianna Doake of Altus; four great grandchildren, Michael and Mason; Zayvein and Austin, Jr.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, other family members and many friends.
A private family service was held with burial following at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
